Hi everyone! My name is Michela but you can call me Miky! I moved here to Brooklyn from my home town in Brisighella, Italy, right outside Tuscany, after I graduated from University of Bologna. I live in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, with my husband and son, in my husband's grandfather 100 years old house. My prospective of food is ancient and respecful of each ingredient I manage, as my grandparents taught me. I decided to start Eatwith because I want to share a different food prospective of what you are used to see in restaurants in NY. In fact, if you want a “feel like home” experience this is the right one for you. My food is hearty, handmade, and each dish will tell you a different story from my country. If you want to see more about my cooking, or the preparation for your dinner by me, or even if you are a just a foodie, follow me on Instagram @notyourmotherspasta !

Was erwartet Sie bei Michela?
It was perfect. We were welcomed with wine and what followed was a four-hour feast, with homemade bread with cheeses, homemade pasta (the fluffiest I've ever tasted), steak grilled right before us, and tiramisu with espresso. The wine flowed, as did the hospitality. It was the best meal I've had this year. So many thanks to Michela, the talented chef, and her husband, Joe, who invited their best friends to join and were the ultimate hosts.
It was probably one of the best Italian meals I’ve had in New York. From the homemade bread to the hand spun beet pasta, from the porterhouse steak that was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, to the mascarpone pistachio ice cream float on expresso... Michela’s love of food and cooking was fully demonstrated in every detail in the courses. It was a perfect dinner in the back garden of Michela’s and Joe’s house with great company. I highly recommend this dinner.
Fantastic. Both in terms of the food presented and fellowship that followed. We experienced New York Italian eating in the heart of Brooklyn's Italian community. The cheese's and antipasto with the home made brown sourdough bread was delicious! We followed with tortellini made Tuscan style from Michela's home province. The filet and the mascarpone cream with cherries and espresso drizzled on top. It was a finish to a fine meal. We enjoyed conversation about current happenings and the customs of her native town. All in all my husband, sister, and brother-in-law enjoyed our last night in New York and made "pisans" of Michela and Joe. Thank you, we would all do this again!
Michele and her husband were amazing guests - so helpful when it started pouring. They helped us to move the tables and rearrange our set up because of the rain. It was such an honor that they chose my expercice to celebrate their anniversary. Thank you so much for coming to my expericie. It would be a pleasure to have you again for more great food and cool vibes.
