We moved to Florence just over a year ago because of Marleen's job and this has given Axel the opportunity to focus on food and wine. We love to cook food from all over the world but especially Italian and using the fresh ingredients from local markets that are available to us here in Florence. Wine is another interest of Axel's after completing the 2-year Diploma in Wine from WSET in London and we enjoy finding interesting wines from local wineries in Tuscany and serving these with our food. Summertime is barbecue time and when the weather permits we will sit in our garden - and anything from pizza to bistecca alla fiorentina and chilli con carne will be on the menu!

Axel had prepared a lovely table in his garden for our Eatwith experience. His family from Denmark were able to join us as well. We dined on Prosecco and and antipasto board of olives, cheeses, meats, bread and artichokes before Axel fixed a special dinner of steak Florentine and sausages with fresh mixed insulata and herbed potatoes. The meat was prepared to perfection and the Chianti Classico was excellent as well. Lemoncello, fresh fruit salad and homemade semi fredo left a sweet finish to a memorable evening in Florence.
