About your host, Yves: "I'm a social cook focused on cooking experiences. 'Grandma’s Cooking Barcelona' wants to help share cooking traditions, allow Grandmas to have a great time, and generate an extra income. We offer hands-on cooking classes with real Grandmas willing to share their secrets to perfecting traditional Spanish and Catalan cuisine."

Menu
Main Dish Examples:
Do you know the Catalan Surf and Turf Dishes?
Can you imagine a meatball stuffed with the cuttlefish tentacles and stewed in a fish broth? Chicken stew with crayfish and mussels could also easily happen in the Grandma’s Cooking Barcelona cookery lessons.
Further away from the worldwide well-known seafood paella, our grandmas may elaborate a black rice, colored with the ink of the cuttlefish and including seasonal artichokes. Or you may be part of the elaboration of a soupy rice with lobster.
Desserts Examples:
Peras al Vi, Torrijas, or Mel & Mató
Pears cooked in red wine with spices that will remind you to Christmas time: Cinnamon, clove, anise.
Torrijas: The British call it bread pudding, while Americans would probably call it "French Toast." Torrijas is a dessert recipe coming from the south of Spain during the XV century as a way to use up stale bread. Elaborate torrijas with your own hands and don´t miss out the amazing flavor!
Mel & Mató (Mató & Honey): a delicious fresh cheese dessert, mató is a delicacy made by the monks of Monserrat's monastery. It is served cold with a drizzling of local honey and dried fruits and nuts.
Vegetables and Catalan Romesco Sauce or Gazpacho
Discover the secret to good Catalan Romesco Sauce. This classic sauce is traditionally used to eat the grilled calçots, a type of scallion or green onion. The main ingredients include grilled tomatoes and garlic head, almonds, hazelnuts and ñora pepper meat.
Or perhaps enjoy a delicious Gazpacho, which is perfect for hot summer days. It is a refreshing cold tomato soup from the south of Spain.
